Hey, a new reader! And a soccer fan to boot. Well, thanks for your readership, but I have to disagree with you.
The reason football players wear pads is because they would be maimed and killed without them - football players are maimed and killed even with pads and helmets on. There are arguments you can make in favor of soccer (easier for small children and Third World types to understand, etc.), but saying that soccer is a tougher sport than football is ridiculous.
