We Three Jerks

A little hero worship and a real life example of the Orndoff principle.
Back to back posts from me? Yes, the apocolypse is upon us.

Anyway, I've been looking through too many old family photos that I received from my aunt after my Grandma died. She archived everything and put them on CD. Though, not sure how good of an idea that is when 3/4 of the family of West Virginians.

Anyway, I was looking at these pictures and damnit if my Grandpa wasn't the classiest guy I've ever known. But then I was thinking, maybe it wasn't just him, maybe it was the time, you know, everyone wore suits, shined there shoes, acted like adults long before we will ever get there. I guess I just got a little bit nostalgic, a little bit sad, because of how far the fruit has fallen from the tree.

Here's to best intentions

As a man who embraces the photograph as an art form, I have to say those are really well composed. The one pictured here and where the kid is pointing really tell a story. The picture contrast is good too.
And who shot and developed them? They didn't have a photomat, so obtaining the camera and developing them couldn't have come cheap.

They're just family snapshots. Amazing, I know. The black and white helps.

I adore old family photos. My grandfather has recently started pulling a lot of his out and sharing with all of us. Not only are the men much classier, but there is just a beauty and elegance to the women that doesn't seem to exist anymore.

Thanks, Draper.

I know what you mean Liz. Godamned hippies ruined everything. Got tired of living a life the way there parents had, and fucked it all up. Anyway, maybe the jerks can start a revolution. Zoot suits for all!

This is why I want to have my 60s themed party--but not cheesy 60s. I want to dress the way my grandmother would have dressed.

Your grandfather really seemed like a class act. What the hell happened to you? Anyway, these are wonderful photographs, thank you for sharing them. Whether intentional or not, I really enjoy the fact that this post follows your T.O. post. What do you think your grandfather would be saying about T.O.'s situation right now? Personally, I know my grandfather still hates John Elway for refusing to sign with the Colts. Luckily, he's passed that hatred on to me, and one day I hope to pass it on to my children.

If playing obsolete video games is cool, than I'm Miles Davis.
